In 2018, UniRef launched its second mission in the Middle East, in Jordan. The situation is alarming in this region of the world and particularly in Jordan, which is today one of the most affected countries by the Syrian crisis. More than 1 million refugees are counted in this country (Jordan Red Crescent). Among this large number of refugees placed in camps, about 31% are between 18 and 29 years old (UNESCO).
UniRef works to ensure that these young people continue their studies and are thus able to support themselves.
In order to concretize its project and set up adapted training courses, UniRef works jointly with the Jordan Red Crescent, the University of Isra and the National University of Jordan. The main project is to offer a complete academic training to 5000 Syrian refugees living in Jordan on a 5-year basis (2019 – 2023).
